The solar-powered electric autonomous rover (SPEAR) is a fully autonomous rover (navigation, w or w/o GPS, and power autonomy), using an onboard optical/thermal camera, a ground penetrating radar unit, and a drone. The main objective of SPEAR is to detect surface and subsurface landmines. SPEAR can also be used in agriculture, reforestation, oil and gas pipeline monitoring, wildfire prevention, archeology, and Earth science investigations.
Fully automated large-scale crater detection for Equatorial and Polar lunar regions using AI techniques and a minimal training set. The method detects craters down to four pixels in diameter (4m in diameter for most LRO-NAC images).
